1. Service provider

This notice identifies the provider of this website and its services, as required of an information society service in Ireland [European Communities (Directive 2000/31/EC) Regulations 2003, S.I. 68/2003, Reg. 7 — this information must be easily, directly and permanently accessible].

Our services are provided to businesses and public bodies. We do not sell to consumers, and this site carries no consumer online shop.

2. Information, not professional advice

Everything published here — the blog, the engineering and procurement material, the security demonstrations and the case studies — is general information about how we work. It is not professional, legal or security advice for your particular situation, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice about your own systems, contracts or obligations.

Reading this site, downloading a governance document or sending an enquiry does not create a client, advisory or retainer relationship. Work begins only under a written engagement agreement, as set out in our terms of service.

3. Reliance and external links

To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on the general information published here. Where we link to another organisation's website, that site is outside our control: the link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for its content or availability. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Liability for the website itself, and for consulting engagements, is dealt with in clause 6 of our terms of service and in the engagement agreement respectively.

4. Intellectual property

You are welcome to quote short passages from this site with attribution and a link back. Ownership of site content, design and code, and the position on open-source components and downloadable governance documents, are set out in clause 5 of our terms of service.

5. Security demonstrations — responsible use

The interactive demonstrations in our Security Lab run against this site's own deliberately instrumented endpoints, built for that purpose. They exist to show how the defences behave, not to hand anyone a tool.

Applying the same techniques to systems you are not authorised to test is a criminal offence in Ireland [Criminal Justice (Offences Relating to Information Systems) Act 2017] and comparable law elsewhere. That includes this site: probing or testing our security without written permission is prohibited by clause 4 of our terms of service. If you have found something, we would genuinely like to hear about it — follow the coordinated disclosure process in our security.txt.

6. AI-assisted drafting

Some written deliverables — engagement and project report drafts in particular — are prepared with AI assistance. Every one is reviewed and approved by the consultant before it reaches you. The AI does not decide anything about your engagement; it drafts narrative around facts taken from our own records.

Project report documents we generate carry a notice on their first page recording that they are AI-assisted and should be verified. Engagement reports are not currently issued as generated documents, so they carry no such notice — the human review above is what stands behind them. We would rather say so than claim a marking we do not apply.

Drafting sends the minimum data needed to our AI sub-processor, Anthropic, and Anthropic does not use it to train models. How that works, what is sent and what is deliberately withheld is set out in the "AI-assisted reports" and "Sub-processors and transfers" sections of our privacy policy.

7. Cookies and analytics

This site uses strictly necessary cookies only — the httpOnly authentication cookies created when you log in to the client portal — which are exempt from the consent requirement [S.I. 336/2011, Reg. 5(5)]. There are no advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to click through. The detail, including our position on cookieless analytics, is in our privacy policy.

8. Governing law and contact

This notice, like our terms of service, is governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If anything here is unclear or looks out of date, tell us at info@veritydigital.ie and we will correct it.
